Christmas Trees Using Buttons

Some people are so clever! Carlene has taken simple things like used postage stamps, burlap and some little red, white and green buttons and created a cute little framed Christmas decoration. We found some vintage Christmas postage stamps to reinforce the Christmas theme (just in case you don’t have any used postage stamps lying around at home anymore) and a rustic frame – but you could always reuse one you already have and distress the paint with some sand paper.

What a great way to use an old pallet! The wood is painted with milk paint and the decorated strips have a paper napkin (just the top layer) glued to them then distressed. Add a few buttons and a star on top….. then make some more in different sizes! Full instructions available here.

There are no instructions available for this button Christmas tree – but it should be fairly simple… Step one find A LOT of green buttons! LOL Then glue them onto a background with some gift boxes underneath (I think there is even a tree skirt at the back – cute!). A star on top finishes the job.

A lot of green buttons! That's what you will need to make this gorgeous DIY button Christmas tree

The 3 Week Diet

If you are anything like me (read: hoarder) you have a stash of buttons that you are “going to use for something someday” that you will not part with. Some are old with sentimental value, some have been cut off of a beloved item of clothing that is now long gone and some you just love! Well now you have a project to use at least some of them for! This DIY button Christmas tree could be made with any colored buttons – start with the frame if you have one and choose the buttons to match. Full instructions are here.
